The deadline to enter the Greenfield Local Cultural Council’s first annual juried art show, 01301: Art by, for, and about Greenfield has now passed. The show was open to anyone living in Greenfield, anyone working in Greenfield, or anyone making art about or inspired by Greenfield; artists of all ages, working in any media, were encouraged to enter.
The entries have now gone to the jurors: Jen Simms, Professor of Art at Greenfield Community College; Braden Chattman, Digital Imaging Instructor at Hallmark School of Photography; Jean-Pierre Pasche, owner of Eastmont Custom Framing in Easthampton & co-creator of the Arts In the Orchard sculpture project; and Becky George, Events Manager at the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce and co-organizer of the Green River Festival and the Brick and Mortar International Video Art Festival.
The show and its gala opening will be held Fall 2012, in a location to be announced at a later date.

Brand new GLCC member artist Lisa Henry signing a reimbursement form as her first official act! Welcome Lisa!
Second-year member Caitlin von Schmidt has been elected as the new Chair of the GLCC, replacing outgoing Chair Becky George. Thanks again, Becky and welcome Caitlin!
There’s some question about the theme of this show: each piece or artist must have some connection to the 01301 (Greenfield’s zip code). Maybe you live here, maybe you produced your piece within the city limits (GCC or local studio), maybe you were sleeping on the couch of a friend in Greenfield when you dreamed about the work? Just make a connection of some sort with the 01301 and your piece will be considered fairly! Submission is only $10. Prizes substantially larger!
The GLCC bids a sad farewell to Chair Becky George, who has reached the end of six amazing years of involvement. Darn those pesky term limits! We know Becky will remain a vital source of advice and information. Thanks again, Becky!
Jen Stromsten & Caitlin von Schmidt of the GLCC ask you to submit your art.
